If you got as far as removing the damper rod, you'll need to put it back in and reattach the allen bolt through the base of the fork leg. The bottom of the damper rod sits in an alloy guide/foot which can easily get a bit dented whilst you're trying to brute-force the fork leg apart. If you shine a small torch down the fork leg when fully extended you should see what you are aiming for - if the damper rod doesn't go all the way in, you won't be able to reach it with the allen bolt. |
